The first three weeks of BRIDGE CULTURE have celebrated Russia, India and Brooklyn with performances by some of New York City's hottest artists. Now the spotlight turns to Haiti.

"Contemporary Haitian culture is a creative mix of old world and new world traditions," said musician Buyu Ambroise. "This vibrant mix is manifested through music, religion, and language. For 50 years the Haitian community in NYC has grown and developed its own particular mode of cultural expression. I am a product of that," continued Abroise, "bridging the art and expressions of the island with the resilient and hardworking immigrant community of the city. My music has its roots in traditional Haitian sounds and rhythms but is influenced by modern American jazz."

Buyu Ambroise & the Blues in Red Band will perform at 5:00 p.m. For the full schedule, see below.

"Brooklyn Bridge Park has quickly become a sought after destination for Brooklynites and the borough's visitors" said Regina Myer, president of Brooklyn Bridge Park. "By hosting the Bridge Culture festival, we celebrate the vibrancy of Brooklyn's many communities with a month of cultural Saturdays at Pier 1."

BRIDGE CULTURE was conceived by artist/philanthropist Danny Simmons, a member of the Park's Board of Directors. "This program was developed to highlight the cultural and artistic diversity that makes Brooklyn the great destination that it is," said Mr. Simmons. "The city's new premiere park is a wonderful place, and we thank Bloomberg LP for helping us present Brooklyn to New York City and beyond."

BRIDGE CULTURAL was developed and is produced by Brian Tate, president of The Tate Group and co-founder of Full Spectrum Experience, Inc., which is producing the series "BRIDGE CULTURE offers a great way to build community among New Yorkers whose roots extend across the U.S. and around the world," said Mr. Tate. "Culture is the bridge that brings us together."

BRIDGE CULTURE is produced by Full Spectrum Experience, in partnership with Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, and Brooklyn Bridge Park. Sponsored by Bloomberg.
