New York, NY - August 5, 2010: -- Outdoor Music at Lincoln Center Lincoln Center’s outdoor Damrosch Park Bandshell hosts some exciting bands this weekend and next; performances are free!
On Saturday, August 7, Balkan Beat Box and Mucca Pazza take the stage. Balkan Beat Box transforms equal parts Balkan-Mediterranean traditions, punk intensity, electronic cool, and hiphop attitude into a globalist groove extravaganza. Mucca Pazza is an exciting 30-plus member circus punk marching band featuring bold brass arrangements and even cheerleaders!
On Saturday, August 14, the New York City premier of Larry Harlow’s La Raza Latina, A Salsa Suite happens. Conveying the history of Latin music in song, this piece remains a testament to keyboard genius Larry Harlow’s commitment to salsa and his creative vision. Panamanian superstar Ruben Blades recreates his role as lead vocalist.
